The March Bandness competition will be coming up on its third year in 2006. Now known as one of the largest band competitions in Atlanta, if not the Southeast, in just a few short years with a prize package valued at $25,000. In the past two years the competition has taken as many as 32 bands to battle it out and see which band can become the March Bandness winner. In 2006, Rock Solid Entertainment looks to expand the number of bands to 64 similar to the famous basketball tourney held during the same time. Here’s how it works. Each band gets 3 songs or 15 minutes and will face other bands during that round. For every paid person they will receive a ballot with all the band’s names on it. There are 4-5 judges scoring each band on a scale of 1-10, with 10 being the best. The combined score of the ballots and the judge’s vote determines the winner for that round. Each round winner receives free studio time and advances to the next round of competition, and then eventually to the finals. 2005 Winner: Tim Brantley
