BIOGRAPHY
Music has grown to become an image driven industry over the past 20 years.
Yet behind the glitz and glamour of MTV lie singer/songwriters who are
bringing the song back into music. One such person, currently touring
in support of his sophomore release 'Mind's Made Up,' is New Jersey native
Brian Wiltsey. Growing up surrounded by music, Brian knew that his comfort
zone was the stage, guitar in hand. From the home-state of such rootsy
singer songwriters as Bruce Springsteen & Pete Yorn, Brian Wiltsey
writes from the heart, creating themes and songs that everybody can identify
with.
North Carolina's Elon University began Wiltsey's professional music career.
Fronting the pop/rock outfit 'Montgomery Burns Band' (MBB), Brian and
co. toured the East and southeast with such regional acts as Athenaeum,
Weekend Excursion, Big Sky, Edwin McCain and more! MBB commanded a loyal
fanbase which Brian carried with him upon moving to Atlanta, GA in 2001.
Atlanta brought a strong focus and growth in his music. Brian quickly
put together a formative lineup of musicians to play in his band. He started
by recruiting former Sugarland guitarist Bret Hartley to play lead guitar
along with Hartley's close friend and drummer Shawn 'Bass' Malone. Former
John Mayer songwriting partner Clay Cook slid into the lineup on keyboards.
Rounding up the lineup on bass is Justin . In the spring of 2003, Brian
began to play Atlanta in support of his first album, 'Ghost On The Outside.'
Drawing on his musical heroes, Jeffrey Gaines, U2, Lenny Kravitz, Brian
began to beef up his acoustic sound with a twist and punch of homegrown
rock 'n roll.
'Mind's Made Up' brings most consistent and enduring material Wiltsey
has penned to date. Collaberating more with his band in Atlanta, 'Mind's
Made Up' was recorded and mixed in just two weeks. Taking his songwriting
back to basics where songs and albums had a meaning and every minute counted,
Brian Wiltsey is ready to hit the road into 2005 and let the world in
on his secret. Get ready to have such tracks as the rocker lead single
'Come My Way' as well as well-crafted ballads 'Close Your Eyes,' and 'Beauty
Queen' find their way into your ears, heart, and soul. Be ready to experience
Brian Wiltsey for yourself so you can truly close your eyes and take it
in before your mind's made up.
So much more could be said to describe Brian Wiltsey and his music...
but only he can put it so well and so briefly... 'It's all about the melody.'
Brian also performs covers on the side. He plays regularly with a band,
solo, or as a duo act. You can find the full band playing covers every
Saturday night at CJ's Landing, Atlanta GA.
Below, you will find a current song list and information on how to hire
Brian for your event or venue. More songs are always beeing added so email
